A New York State Of Mind

We're taking a little trip to New York today to visit with Wölffer Estate Vineyard.

When we first tasted their wines we were surprised by the quality. We don't carry a lot of wines from New York so we're very careful with our selection. We truly feel these represent the state at its best.

Wölffer Estate Classic White Wine 2015

This delicious white wine is a nice white blend for warm summer days. It's a blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. There are pear and apple flavors with nice acidity. Perfect for the beach!

Wölffer Estate Summer In A Bottle Rosé 2015

"Fresh green herbs on the nose accumulate fruit and floral notes on the palate of this pretty but robust rosé. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer, it offers intense red berry and watermelon fruitiness along with a pleasantly clingy, silken mouthfeel." (Wine Enthusiast)

"The 2015 Summer in a Bottle Rosé looks like a much lower end product given the pretty packaging that always reminds me of some entry-level Vinhos Verdes, but it is actually an overachiever in its style. Fresh and fruity, it tastes great, dribbles dry, red fruit over the palate and finishes well. The pretty packaging will seem like a nice extra because the contents in it are so nice." Wölffer Estate Sagaponack Red Wine 2013

This dark red wine emits wonderful cassis aromas with fine mineral notes. On the palate, the mouthfeel is lush and concentrated with round velvety tannins. Dark berry notes come from the rich Merlot base. Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and Cabernet Franc provides balance and elegance. Petit Verdot provides food-friendly acidity, rounding out this classic Bordeaux-style blend and enhancing its lingering finish.
